IP at Sun God

Yo.

Interrobang at the Sun God Festival '08, San Diego!

(Free-paint wooden boards. A line of porta-potties in the back)

Hot day at UCSD full of booths and activities like rock climbing, obstacle courses, and that gladiator thing where you try to knock each other off the platforms.

Not to mention live performances from bands including Radio Racer, The Aquabats, Living Legends, Say Anything, and Sean Kingston.

Not as much spirit as the years before (super heighten security and the fact that the other school-wide activities of wildness were eliminated) but still fun. Hope to see some of you next year!

Misleading Title from Kotaku

Yo.

Pretty much sharing the excitement of getting dugg with the others here in IP. Being a part of the Digg community, can't help but consider it awesome for us to be on the front page for once.

One thing I wanted to bring up was the fact that the Kotaku version of our video post had a misleading article title (I will agree it had a lot to do with it getting dugg 4000+). But the fact that it brought up the question "What if Nintendo Made Halo 3" left the community pondering an actual answer to it.

This of course leaves a lot of people either bashing Nintendo or Halo 3, something we didn't intend.

As for Gal, Guy, and Villain, the idea first arrived to make a long line of video game parodies to enter a video in the MLG U.S. Army Film Fest for the Funniest category. The plan was to make a parody of all 5 games as in the full version, but because of a 90 second limit to the contest, we had no choice but to cut out Pacman and FFVII.

It was the only way we could think of to keep the storyline in the video linear (as in where Guy falls and gets up after the crash) and it really had nothing to do with just making it "Nintendo." Both Pacman and FFVII took a lot of work to get right, and it really hurt to cut it out for contest purposes.

My take on GGV was for it to actually unify gaming in general. It was more towards reminiscing the old games from all platforms rather than bashing any of them (C'mon, we've all played those games at some point for enjoyment =).

So no hate...appreciate ;-)

Weekend Recap!?

Wow...this weekend has been absolutely insane. WE GOT DUGG!!! (For those who don't quite know what that means go here.) The wonderful people at Kotaku posted our short version (MLG film fest ver.) of Gal, Guy, and Villain under the title "If Nintendo Made Halo 3". User ChaoticInfinity posted it on Digg and it wasn't long until it reached the front page. Everything just snowballed into a heap of wonderful goodness from there. The video spread across forums and websites, and to top it off, the full ver. of GGV reached the top of digg the next day.

Needless to say, the guys here at IP!? are truly grateful for all the support. It has given us additional drive to create even more content for you all to enjoy. So be sure to look out for more from us soon!

Speaking of which, here is the latest GGV2 Update:
-Filming is complete.
-Final voice work was completed earlier today.
-Just need work on some minor post production editing (credits/sound).

Red Ring of Death!?

On Tuesday April 22, 2008 at approximately 10am, my Xbox 360 became another casualty of the dreaded Red Ring of Death. I immediately called up the infamous Max at Xbox support and after numerous attempts to get my zip code, I was transfered to a kind young lady. As some of you unfortunate people may know, calling in Xbox support for the RRoD requires you to first go through basic troubleshooting (plugging your power cord into another socket, removing your HDD, etc.) I personally think it's a waste of time, but we got through it quick enough. Anyways, my prepaid shipping box just came in so I'll be dropping that off at UPS sometime today.

I just find it funny though that my newer Halo 3 Edition 360 suffered the RRoD while my original launch day 360 has yet to fall (*knocks on wood). I honestly thought MS had taken care of this problem with the newer models. Fortunately I have my spare 360 so production on GGV 2 will not be hindered.

Speaking of which, here is the latest update on GGV 2:
-Outline/Script work is complete
-Zev and I will be starting set/map design later tonight
-Filming will officially start this Sunday (Apr. 27)

Due to time restraints, we can't give an official release date for the video just yet. We have to schedule around work, school, and other personal priorities, but we promise to get it out asap. Until then, you can laugh at my misfortunes:
